Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
- Drive Time: 2 hours
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, where you’ll meet your safari guide and fellow group members. After a brief introduction, you’ll depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees.
Upon arrival, you’ll begin your game drive, exploring the park’s varied landscapes and spotting wildlife such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and a variety of birds. The Tarangire River, which runs through the park, is a magnet for animals, especially during the dry season. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, you’ll return to your camp or lodge for dinner and a night under the stars.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
- Drive Time: 5-6 hours
After breakfast, you’ll head towards the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destination. Along the way, you’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you might spot wildlife like buffaloes and Masai herders with their cattle. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you’ll enjoy a full afternoon game drive.
The Serengeti is famous for its endless plains and its spectacular wildebeest migration, but the park is home to a diverse range of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, elephants, gazelles, and much more. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park before continuing your safari until sunset.

Day 3: Serengeti Game Drive – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- Drive Time: 3-4 hours
Wake up early for a morning game drive in the Serengeti, a prime time for spotting predators on the prowl. Early mornings are also ideal for seeing the animals in action as they hunt or graze before the heat of the day sets in. After the game drive, you’ll have breakfast at camp before continuing your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On your way, you might stop to visit a Masai Boma (traditional village) to experience the unique culture of the Masai people. In the evening, you’ll arrive at your camp or lodge located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Return to Arusha
- Drive Time: 3-4 hours
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day safari. The crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo) in a single day. The crater floor is also home to a diverse range of other wildlife, including hippos, flamingos, hyenas, and more.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before ascending the rim in the afternoon. After your game drive, you’ll begin the journey back to Arusha. You’ll be dropped off either at your hotel or at Arusha Airport (ARK) for your onward flight.
